Systems Engineer

Job description:
The Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying and administering leading edge technology to support Emptoris’ enterprise applications. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Application Management team as well as with other groups in the company such as sales, professional services, support, software development, and quality assurance. This position may require customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy new systems in Emptoris’ hosting facilities (Windows, Solaris, and Linux)
  • Install and configure new versions of Emptoris software
  • Work with Emptoris customers to ensure the proper deployment of Emptoris software.
  • Document installation and data center process and procedures
  • Monitor application availability
  • Maintain a secure and highly available hosting environment

Job requirements:

  • 4+ years of supporting mission critical applications on Solaris, Windows, or Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with Weblogic and Websphere application servers
  • Experience with Oracle database servers
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow through skills
  • Ability to work after hours or on weekends as needed
  • Exposure to networking and scripting is a plus
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent
