Senior Mortgage Compliance Analyst
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to General Counsel, in this role you will provide guidance for the purposes of developing and maintaining legal/regulatory compliance policies and procedures. You will be responsible for facilitating the relationship between legal, compliance, business, quality control and risk management; and for ensuring quality control measures related to all phases of the mortgage process from pre-application to post-closing and secondary marketing.
Representative duties include:
•Development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws; creation of related systems and procedures to ensure uniform compliance.
•Development of forms required for new or amended programs, including form changes mandated by the various state and federal agencies, as well as GSE’s.
•Overseeing governmental and state audits, branch evaluation processes, branch licensing, Fair Lending topics, HMDA reporting and FHA MWOB usage.
•Development of training programs to educate staff on relevant compliance issues.
•Handle annual HMDA reporting duties.
•Preparation of written communications/recommendations to both company management and state and federal agency contacts. Job requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required plus a minimum of five years of compliance/operations management experience. Must possess knowledge of retail mortgage loan origination and processing and have strong, working knowledge of all mortgage forms from application to closing. Strong, working knowledge of Federal and state mortgage regulations required, as well as strong pc skills including advanced word processing and spreadsheet preparation abilities. Must also have broad mortgage compliance knowledge as it pertains to retail and wholesale mortgage banking, and thorough knowledge of TILA, RESPA, HMDA, HOEPA, GLB, FCRA, ECOA, state predatory or high cost lending, usury and licensing laws and regulations. Must have the ability to write, interpret and implement responses to compliance inquiries and audits. Must possess a positive attitude and work well in a fast paced environment.
