CHIEF SCIENTIST TS SCI

Job description:
Researches and studies the structures and various scientific properties relating to physics, chemistry, biology, and/or other scientific disciplines in order to develop new products or enhance existing ones. Typically familiar with various scientific formulas. Skills require planning and conducting scientific testing, the ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports, data reports, and other publications. Typically requires Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline (i.e. biology, chemistry, physics, etc.)

Job requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least nine or more years of relevant experience as a technical expert in one or more of the following areas: space, aeronautical engineering, directed energy weapons, lasers, unmanned vehicles, robotics, and precision weapons.
• Must have a technical background be capable of in-depth understanding new science and technology efforts, engineering fundamentals, and analysis.
• The candidate will provide program management and technical support to the TTO Office Director at DARPA. Technical and operational support to the DARPA TTO may include, but is not limited to the following activity:
  • Provide technical and management support to the Office Director and Deputy Director as requested.
  •  Provide technical and operational input and advice to briefings and other presentations as requested.
  •  Implement strategic plans.
  •  Conduct needs analysis.
  • Review studies and new concepts and determine value to the strategic plan.
• Government Laboratory, Department of Defense and DARPA experience is a plus. Strong management skills is considered most important. Position has direct access to the office director and provides guidance and recommendations to the Chief Scientist.
